The democrats are planning to place a vote on the issuance of subpoenas to White House officials with regards to the firing of 8 U.S. attorneys. As it stands, President Bush is totally against it claiming that putting such people under such circumstances would damage their ability to provide “candid advice†to the president.
There have been a lot of speculations with regards to how this issue is being treated. There are sources that have been considered this as a political opportunity to score against the current administration while some are saying that it may open a can of worms with regards to President Bush’ administration. Either way, the continued reluctance of the U.S. President is only enticing the Democratic Party to pursue the issue even more.
While Bush should be given commendation for his continuous cooperation with regards to other matters coming his way, this issue has drawn the line with regards to his credibility. Unless the issue has been settled to satisfy all parties concerned, it will be something that can be seen among the list of issues that headlines feast on daily.
