When you start setting up your online marketing plan it’s likely that you know the importance of being on the internet and how that exposure can make your business known all over the world. Whether you are working to market to another country or just in your own backyard, you should make sure that you do everything you can to make the best of your marketing plan.
Marketing online is about far more than just having a website or just signing up for social media accounts. Having these things is just the first step in making sure that you build your brand and attract new customer. Here are the three things you need to make sure you do after!
Be Consistent and Stay Up-To-Date
Being consistent is very important, because if you aren’t you may lose followers. This is mostly important when it comes to social media. Spend some time a couple days a week, minimum updating each of your social media accounts with new statuses and things that will engage your followers. Include photos and more.
However, you don’t want to get to annoy them with too many updates, and definitely stay away from posting multiple entries a day unless it’s useful information that your readers will want to read and comment on. You need to engage them, not annoy them.
Promote, Promote, Promote
There are many online promotion angles, and while some won’t work for every business, you want to make sure you are using the ones that are right for you. Again, make sure you aren’t spamming or over stimulating your customers, and make sure you are sending them things with info they can actually use, or you’ll lose them.
Some of the great ways, other than blogs and social media, that you can promote to customers include newsletters, email blasts, podcasts, and even through YouTube videos and slideshows. Take some time to research online promotion ideas and integrate some into your regular routine.
Make Sure You’re Mobile
These days you really need to be mobile. Many people own smartphones and their reasoning for having this type of phone is for easy access to the internet, no matter where they are. You need to make sure that your website looks good on the small screen of a cell phone.
Check each page of your website, including photos, before going live online. If your website isn’t mobile friendly you need to look into changing that. When someone finds your site online from their phone and can’t use it they will be less likely to come back, even from their computer!
Remember, your company isn’t going to go anywhere if you don’t put in some foot work, or finger work when it comes to the internet. Get online and let people know you mean business.
